Ministries

Missionary
The Women's Missionary Council of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, established in 1918, empowers women in ministry through local, district, and annual conferences. Originally founded to provide leadership opportunities for women, we proudly continue this 100+ year legacy under International President Dr. Princess A. Pegues.
Usher
Our Board of Ushers serves as the welcoming presence of our church community. These dedicated members guide visitors into worship, ensure everyone's comfort during services, and fulfill additional responsibilities as directed by our pastor. Each board elects its own officers and follows CME Church ushering protocols to create a reverent, hospitable environment.

Male chorus music ministry
Thank you, God, for everything, the big things and the small. For "every good gift comes from God"...The giver of them all. And all too often we accept, without any thanks or praise, The gifts God sends as blessings, each day in many ways. And so at this time, we offer up a prayer...To thank you, God, for giving us a lot more than our share. We the Male Chorus of St. Joseph CME Church sing praises to God on the 4th Sunday monthly. Few in number mighty in praise to God since 1918.

Voices of joy MUSIC ministry
The choir started in 1967 with 10 members singing on the 2nd Sunday alternating with the Male Chorus on the 5th Sunday. The choir has faced many challenges, many times singing without a musician. The choir has endured and conquered those obstacles and can always be found in the choir stand ready to praise God with up lifted voices on the 3rd Sunday with 11members strong 3 being the original starting 10 members.
Lay council
The Department aids the CME Church in equipping and enabling it’s members to engage in effective ministry in the Name of Jesus Christ by focusing on The Lays (the whole people of God). By promoting the Lay Ministry Beliefs of Studying, Seeking, Sharing, and Serving, the Department of Lay Ministry seeks to live out its mission to “Reach, Teach, and Minister to All of God’s People, – Equipping Them For Greater Works and Service For Him.”
